A whole lot of love & adjusting

Alright, I must say the girls have been delightful and very helpful, sometimes wanting to help too much. Anyone relate? Yesterday I tried to take Bennett from Seb, so that I could feed him and she clentched on him like he was a toy that she wouldn't give up. The more I tried to take him the harder she'd squeeze! I got a little to the end of my rope with her (for other reasons as well). She ended up outside on the swing. When I found her out here to apologize, I felt so much emotion come over me. What was going on in her mind? How is she really feeling about a whole new life coming into our home? Are we giving her enough attention and love still? Her innocent little mind seemed so frazzled.

Tomorrow we're having a Thanksgiving Feast at her Preschool. I'm going without my other 2. Just me, there to see her and be with her. I must say, being a parent is the best thing in the world....and a struggle at some moments.

I am so grateful I am able to save some of the feelings and emotions with my camera. Even if they are shoved in folders on my computer, I'm grateful to have them.
ps. We're going to have a "raking leaves party" in our lovely yard - in a week or 2. We have six gigantic trees that have let maybe 1/3 of their leaves fall so far. I think they're over 100 yrs old, those honkers. It'll make for some fun piles to jump in.

After a couple of weeks thinking "he was coming" and him tricking with lots of false labor....he proved that each pregnancy is so different and they come when they're supposed to :) He decided to really come Thursday evening, what a beautiful moment. We are all soaking in every second of this new little life.

On my way home from doing pictures tonight I stopped at this tree that popped out, with very few leaves changing. I quite like that lonesome leaf there. We're headed to Midway this weekend and I hope to get lots more (that is if I make it that far. Went to the doc - dialated to almost a 4 now, and 80% effaced.whewy! We were really hoping to make it to October. hhmmm) The family tonight kept thinking they were going to put me into labor. How would that've been? hah ;)

Fall is in the air baby! I'm remembering what I missed so much about living here. There's a certain crispness in the air.

Yesterday I made apple pancakes for dinner, the windows and doors all open and our fall spice candle burning. Nothing beats those aroma's.

I'll throw these few of the many that my cousin in law took of me. She is an amazing photographer, and I'm so glad her and I are friends and get to talk photography and other things lots. She is awesome. I will post more when I have more time

It's feeling like this pregnancy is winding down now :) There's a whole list of things this time around that I swear I didn't have with carrying my girls. Maybe it's because it's the 3rd time? Don't know, but one that makes me laugh - my husband has had to stop me from full on snoring the last few nights. Like an old woman has to plug her old man's nose when he won't be quiet. It's that loud. Embarrasing. I'm trying to not have my mind set that I will go early, in case I don't (guessing I will because both my girls came early). We'll see!

My last shoots before my break will be next week. I'm sorry. I haven't planned to schedule any after that.

I wish I could let you all know when I'll be "back in business" after he comes and we all get in a groove around here. Probably not until the beginning of the year, if that? I just don't want to regret not enjoying every minute of the time with him, plus I may just be a head case for awhile. Sohoooo with that being said, feel free to contact me if you need something specific, BUT until then it'll just be up-dates here and there from us.

Finally! My kids have been counting down the days. Yesterday was the big one for both of them. Ava's first day of kindergarten, and Seb's in a pre-school here in the neighborhood.
Monday, Ava came in a few times in the night saying she couldn't sleep and was really scared to go. She said "mom, what if there's tons and tons of people?" There's 21 in her class, and I'm sure it did seem like lots to her. Bless her heart (she doesn't have a clue what's ahead in life). Ended up doing so great though. It was given by her expressions that she was still nervous underneath all the excitement.

Our next door neighbor has been here in Alpine 90 years, about. Cutest man you'll ever meet, and my girls just adore him. He is out on his back porch swinging everyday. He tells us stories of his days delivering newspaper on horseback.

Ava went with me to take the pictures and on the way home we found a colt with his mom.....oh, and what happened, I cried.A beautiful thing watching them together. I didn't take my camera out with us to the field, but came back to see them again and the babe wouldn't get off the ground to get a picture with his mom. For the Love.

I was taking some pictures of our sleeping child by the pool. (kids look the most lovely and peaceful as they sleep ;) and Ava got a little jealous I think, she sat there watching me take a zillion pictures of her sister, in one position....next thing I knew she had gone into Granny's make-up and spruced up her lips to grab my attention. We moved again. I always knew I wanted to live in an old (over 100 yrs) house someday, for even a short time. We love it here, and are still working on getting all settled in.
and the greatest & most important of all, I've been working on our little guy in my belly. With little energy the last few months. There are so many things that come with being pregnant, I think I forgot. For instance, losing brain cells (I've been forgetting things so easily), I could sleep all day long - literally, the hips expanding, the headaches, way weird dreams, the hormones (I've done the laughing and crying at the same time many times), of coarse the nausea and heartburn. I know I can't just blame pregnancy for everything, but man, proven stuff right? I'm dang Grateful for them though, just keeps us knowing I have a healthy baby in there makes it all very WORTH IT.

These girls are my favorite things in the world. You should see how thrilled they are to be getting a brother. Now we just have to continue waiting for October!
......That is a bit of why I have not kept up on here :)

We spent part of last week and the weekend in California....visiting THE Mickey and Minnie, and of course the princesses. My girls were beside themselves.
This is the only shot we got with all of us.

Do you get nervous asking a stranger to grab your camera from you, Awkward, then having them taking a picture of you???? Half the time it's completely out of focus. "thank you sir," with a big smile.

In case you were wondering, I am yet to get a picture for our Christmas card. Running out of time aren't we :( We had a second attempt at the beach photos while we were there this time. Nope. Not even close to working out. It was way too windy and freezing cold, plus the light was horrible. Booo! I just loaded our pictures from the trip. We got a good laugh out of this. Ava in the hotel on her birthday. She got a new dress, and some " real high heels," (little 1/2" wedges that she's begged for the last 3 months)....let me add, she's only 5. Look at her thinking she is IT - tuckin her hair, crossin her legs, calling/dialing out like she knows exactly who she's looking up, and out of that bible. Can't get enough of that girl!

We had some good times. I'll be glad to share more (from our trip and of your pretty people), when I get my head above water :))

Craziness. A few thoughts

So I've decided my blog will probably be pushed aside for the next little while. My time will be in trying to get all my galleries up and time editing (I'll try to throw a few on here and there). Please know that ALL YOUR SELECTIONS NEED TO BE IN BY THE 30TH, if you want your discs and prints before Christmas =)

Next year I am seriously planning a few "mini sessions" for people, ahead of time because I was really trying/wanting to work out a time to fit it in this year but, lame, I've got nothing.... I don't have a single Saturday either, for the rest of the year. It would help us all out I think. Plan on it for next year, it will be a lot less in cost, but you'll only get a couple of edits on the disc. Yeah!? And I think I'll attempt my own Christmas card designs, I'm excited! Sorry I'm lame and didn't get it together this year. Here I talk ambitiously a year in advance, this way there will be no excuses to not do it I guess!

I'm looking forward to seeing all you. One tip, DON'T stress! That's for my clients but mostly myself.

This here is my new little nephew, Eli. This was probably the second time I've ever heard him cry (I guess he's only been here 9 days ;) Isn't he cute!? All the others he's peacefully sleeping and letting us nicely fidget and move him all around. This one might be my favorite though.

Look at these brown eyes! My husband has that deep brown in his eyes too (this is his sister). She's lucky to be so beautiful, and make such beautiful babes.

It's good we got some good pumpkin ones before my dog came and ate the pumpkin. Seriously, what on earth makes me love those animals? It's retarded! She took a bite out of the kids pumpkin, and chewed a few other things that she knows better than. I got a little fumed up, and Ava had to pretty much tell me I really didn't need to be so rude. To heck I did. I'm pretty sure she was mad at me because I locked her up when I was doing pictures this morning, and then straight after ran errands. So she was ignored most of the day, I guess. Wa wa.

I wish I could word things the way that I want to, but never seem to get it just right. Anyway, the reason this room means so much to me, and them, is because everything was either fixed up and re-painted from when I was a kid (thanks mom for hanging on to things for that loooong) or made by my grandma (all the porcelin) or by their abuelo (the wood vase) or found at yard sales or the DI (the pillows, the plastic mirror(sshhh), chandelier. I know, score!)....after going to too many and more. Or the handmade window cover ( a $3 DI sheet, made by my seamstress sister in law). It's not all the way complete. eh. (What's the point of headboards anyway?) We feel so much peace being in there, as it's so soft. and so sweet.... and pink of course!

Wasn't sure I'd shoot the HUNTSMAN SENIOR GAMES again this year, but I am, and I'm so glad. It really is neat to see people showing some skills at their age! Unbelievable. And they're all so nice (a lot of returning players from last yr) Unfortunate that they had to cancel half the days events. It's been a constant storm, since about 2:00 on today.

And here's a few random's from my Bear Lake trip that I meant to put up for the heck of it. I'll let them tell their own story, oh, except the one of mine in their honking huge helmets (thank you for protecting so much, really) and my CUTE DAD guiding them on the horse =)

it was just one of those days. Didn't get very far with anything... just halfway it seemed - k, maybe not even halfway. I was walking in circles. Do you ever go to put a load of laundry in, then think of something else you need to do (like get a package all ready to send off, that you keep forgetting, besides- don't even make it to the post office anyway. ggrrr! Sorry Scott) so you leave the laundry to get that done, then something else to sidetrack ya, oh then the kids are hungry, ope, it's time to go...wait what!? It's seriously been an hour already!? (felt more like 6 minutes).... and so on..... and then find the laundry 5 hours later with a "oh yeah, I WAS in the middle of that" Blah!

This is a SOOC (straight out of camera) shot. I really want/need to simplify in many ways, or maybe just learn to not get sidetracked so easily. Lol. Anyway, this picture reminded me.

I've got some more I took in Lake Town, that I can't wait to print and hang in the hall or somewhere. Promise, I am working on getting caught up from last weeks shoots! Check back tomorrowish. I hope it's a more productive day.

This was taken at the lava rocks in Santa Clara. She also wanted the red rock, which, believe it or not I've only done one other photoshoot with such a beautiful landscape. Funny how no one who lives here want their pictures done there. What's up with that? Don't you know where we live people? ;) hahh

She decided to have her groom in them as well. I think they'll be so glad. I feel like we didn't get any good pictures on our wedding day. (fun in the moment, memorable ones, but none to really enlarge) Partially because it was in the negatives that morning, our ears were going to fall off. And we had to rush to make it to our luncheon. Anyway, this was relaxed and slow, enjoyable for me, and them I hope. We got some mushy kissy shots too.You'll wanna see. I'm way excited. But, It'll have to wait! Sorry Katie. When I get back home on Monday I'll post more.

For now I've gotta go make sure my kids will have some clean clothes for the rest of the week and weekend. :)

is turning 8 on Saturday, is absolutely beautiful inside and out....and is my niece, that I can't say enough about. She really is one of my favorite people on earth. Plus, my girls adore her. Ask anyone....there is just something different about her little spirit. I've always thought that one day she'll either be in the movies, or a famous actress, or singer/dancer...something in the limelight. You can't have as much zest for life and not "go places." Her seamstress mom made yet another beautiful dress. You should check out her stuff, she's got skills.

I have been going through trying to narrow down a smaller amount for her mommy to go through, and I just can't. She's so photogenic on top of it all. I'll put one up quick so you can see what I'm shouting. This shot was taken with a reflector to get that glow. I need to use mine more, I just can't ever seem to get it quite right in my hand/arm - trying to use my hands to hold that, angle the camera and take the picture all together. Half the time it falls back in my face or I lose the light. Any tips?

this sweet family that lost their son. Last Thursday his life was taken from him after a traumatic accident where he suffered a major head injury. Almost unbelievable. Most unimaginable.

This was taken just a few weeks ago. Todd is the one to the upper right of his mom, and his twin sister is to the far right. I hope they can somehow find comfort in such a horribly hard time. ....but it was. the fair. Just a little. It was way fun too though, so o well. =)
My fellow photographer friend asked me to do their family pictures at the county fair last week. I knew this was a bit of a smaller town we live here in, but didn't realize how small....until we pulled up to the fairgrounds. We still had a great ol time, still had the cotton candy, and the funnel cakes, games and of course the fairest wheel was present :) - besides kids couldn't give a hoot how much is there, it's huge to them no matter what right!? BUT it was a tiny bit ghetto. No offense to anyone, please! Anyway! AMY HUMMEL is so awesome, you need to check out her work. Go here. While we were at it she needed some head shots for her website and shhtuff...I'll put a few of those up, and can't wait to introduce her cute family soon.

When the Bluth's asked me to shoot Michael's military photos, I got dang excited, and knew this would probably once in a lifetime chance. He was only home for a few short days, and one of which was a day I was going to be up there already. These were done at the capitol. Isn't he amazing? Ahhh. I can't get over this boy. And I keep laughing out loud thinking about his sister trying to feed a sucker to him. She got in his mouth alright. It was funny. I remember dealing with similar stuff, having my girls 20 months apart. They don't quite understand a few things. So sweet and innocent. He's almost 3 weeks old. I was a little nervous we wouldn't be able to get him to sleep for all the "peaceful/pure baby pics" I was imagining, but he slept almost the entire time. We even got him in a stork swing thing. Way cute! Anyway, it was way fun meeting your kids Tiff! And thanks for trusting and letting me try some new stuff. You're going to have lots to pick from =) I'll put one up for now...

This here is my very own nephew. Brayden turns 6 next week. Him and I had the privilege of going on a little aunt-nephew outing. We only spent a half hour doing pics, and we got a whole bunch of cute ones. I'll share this for the moment (I am trying to surprise them with the others....so shoooshh) I have a hard time with surprises. And once again, I realized yesterday that I am random. Who broadcasts that their dog has bad gas and puts a picture of a rose with it? Me, I guess. Sorry about that.

Alright, these are going to be fun. Just loaded them and I can tell we definitely got some keepers. I'll pop just one up for now. This family was awesome! It made me think I want to have 6 girls. They are all so close and care so much for eachother, and were so cooperative, might I add :) I caught some way cute ones of the girls laughing at/with their dad. You can really feel their love.

Hope the mothers out there got some pampering and a few thanks for all you do's! Happy Moms day.

I got lots of hugs, some homemade flowers (the best kind :) and some caramel macadamia clusters.They're too good to be true. If you haven't already tried them, don't! I think I'll have Devin hide mine before I eat the whole jar and gain another 5 pounds...and I'm pretty sure I'm going to whack my alarm when it comes time to waking up to work out tomorrow. Crud

I got to enjoy little Drake again. Luckiness. I am loving the light in my wanna be studio (garage =). And I love the fresh blue tones lately. This boy is attached to a few important things....Mom for sure, the binki, and his tattered piece of blanket (the sweetest thing). I'm so grateful to know these great people. I debated putting on some of the blanky on his head and binki turned in his mouth. There are some funny ones! Too many to share

This big kid is watching out for the little kid. All the pictures before this one he has got a major grip protecting him. In fact there's a few where I think little brother is choking with a friendly arm linked around his head. heheh. I really love these boys! And I can't believe Jack Jack is already 1. (That means I've been doing this at least a year, he was my first newborn shoot, whewy)

These guys were a lot of fun. Some of my favorites were when the baby is feeding his daddy goldfish crackers. They never fail to entertain, and his cute anger spurts.... I think I used to do the same thing as a kid. Put my hands in fists and shake. RRrrr. So funny. Drake has no clue what a stinkin' little stud he is! I'll have lots more to post if I can just stay on a roll with my editing. Heading back up to SL in 2 days.

this Easter weekend. I can't wait to kick it for a few days up north...Possibly get my spirit enlightened a bit ;) Okay, and I hope you don't get jealous but my husband got us tickets to Michael Buble! Tomorrow! (they were a surprise Christmas gift). Rock on. I haven't been to a concert in years.

Sometimes I wish I had all my stuff on a laptop, so my work was portable, but then other times I don't. Just thinking I have to catch up on a few other posts.

Stace was so nice to lend her chicks to me for a night and a day. And I got to do about 5 shoots (a few mini's).... had to put some up for her. I think her kids are some of the most handsome little monkeys around! They've already got farmers tans too!? It's not even April ;) We (my girls really do) love these boys.

It was one of those feeling really good days and my kids have barely whined at me the whole day, days. I finally got started on one project for the moment around the house. Well, I taped and sealed off the girls room to paint (that's a big step =) and I got some of my white canvases out to let the girls use their touch and put some of them in their room. I think it will be fun when it all comes together. Also, I set up in the garage and borrowed our friends baby chicks for some pics. I'll post one favorite for now
This looks a little frightening, a 2 and 4 yr old with acrylic paints. They actually did great with it, and seriously sat there for over an hour working on them. I am in love with their finished pieces, can't wait to show you (I'll wait till they're on the wall)

Southwest Vision

Our eye doctor and good friend had me take pictures of this nice office of theirs. My favorite part about this place are the manican heads and the beaded wall.

(sorry, this doesn't have a thing to do with the pictures, just thought I'd throw in something kind of funny, and typical I think) It was a bit of a crazy morning - getting up at 6:00 on a Saturday, juggling around to trying to get our yard sale ready before the die hards got there, then as we were all settled, I ditched it because I was so excited to go shoot this office. The morning light was awesome. As I was leaving I shut the keys in my husbands trunk, woops, so I got to sit on the curb and wait a bit for a generous ride, while my husband tried to sale our stuff for way more than they were worth. lol. Not really, but sort of. (then by the end of the sale, it was "sure we'll go down in price, yep, even lower...just take it".

Like I've said before this is like my out, something I really really enjoy...it's hard to consider it work. Thanks Doc's and staff, you have a great team there at your office.
