This girl

is turning 8 on Saturday, is absolutely beautiful inside and out....and is my niece, that I can't say enough about. She really is one of my favorite people on earth. Plus, my girls adore her. Ask anyone....there is just something different about her little spirit. I've always thought that one day she'll either be in the movies, or a famous actress, or singer/dancer...something in the limelight. You can't have as much zest for life and not "go places." Her seamstress mom made yet another beautiful dress. You should check out her stuff, she's got skills.

I have been going through trying to narrow down a smaller amount for her mommy to go through, and I just can't. She's so photogenic on top of it all. I'll put one up quick so you can see what I'm shouting. This shot was taken with a reflector to get that glow. I need to use mine more, I just can't ever seem to get it quite right in my hand/arm - trying to use my hands to hold that, angle the camera and take the picture all together. Half the time it falls back in my face or I lose the light. Any tips?

So my family blog is private (a big secret. hah, I don't like using that term "private". but it is. and maybe I'm overly PARANOID). And no, I'm not on facebook either. Not my thing, maybe if I ever wanted to grow this business, I'd possibly be apart of all that, but for now this is what you get) I put enough on here, I don't feel so bad. Not everyone needs to know everything right? ;) No, but sorry if you've already seen part of this post.

I had to share! Hilarious kid. She would literally drop the ball straight down and then sit down and wait,wait, and wait.....slowly roll itself. Then, she expressed in the second picture, that she is "way cooler", and the boss of everyone, right?

Luke & Halle

Oh I love these 2 like my own. I'm so happy Linds (one of my best friends) had me take their pictures while she was down here. Plenty more of these beautiful kids. Marshmallows,bubbles and my dog got some smiles. There's a few silly ones I might share....like Luke snarfing as many mini marshmallows he could fit in his little mouth.

I'm sort of feeling bad for what I said about the fair. But I didn't mention that they allowed inmates all over the place! Very family friendly. eek. I kept trying to get some pictures of them (uh, I don't know why, just because) but I kept getting scared. Anyway, as I've been going through all my photos, I really did have a good time. I will not bash anymore.....

Crazy that summer is over. My kids started school (well pre-school) last week. Hope the best for everyone and this new school year.

this sweet family that lost their son. Last Thursday his life was taken from him after a traumatic accident where he suffered a major head injury. Almost unbelievable. Most unimaginable.

The parents Jeff & Crystal are going through a lot right now. Please, if you can help in the slightest way by keeping them in your prayers and possibly by donating to the fund set up for them. This was taken just a few weeks ago. Todd is the one to the upper right of his mom, and his twin sister is to the far right. I hope they can somehow find comfort in such a horribly hard time. Please help if you can. And like Josie said, "hold our little ones a little closer, kiss them a little more and tell them we love them every chance we have!"

....but it was. the fair. Just a little. It was way fun too though, so o well. =)
My fellow photographer friend asked me to do their family pictures at the county fair last week. I knew this was a bit of a smaller town we live here in, but didn't realize how small....until we pulled up to the fairgrounds. We still had a great ol time, still had the cotton candy, and the funnel cakes, games and of course the fairest wheel was present :) - besides kids couldn't give a hoot how much is there, it's huge to them no matter what right!? BUT it was a tiny bit ghetto. No offense to anyone, please! Anyway! AMY HUMMEL is so awesome, you need to check out her work. Go here. While we were at it she needed some head shots for her website and shhtuff...I'll put a few of those up, and can't wait to introduce her cute family soon.

These two spell out love - It's written all over them. I'm so excited I got to mix things up and do an engagement shoot. Though, I've said it, I don't do weddings....Katie & Clayton are exceptions. She asked me long before I had figured out what I was doing (and plenty before they were even engaged ;). It was a lot of fun, thanks!

Look who's 28

So, I'm not sure I've ever posted a picture of my husband on this here, my more public bloggity blog. Er maybe I have? (only like 5ish?) BUT it sure wouldn't hurt for you to see his handsome self again ;) You're missing out if you've never met this guy.....And really, 28 is still way young. We were sitting down at the kitchen table earlier and he leaned over and said "I really don't want to have a birthday tomorrow, that means I'm getting that much closer to 30...and I'll be one of those "older dads"." Ha. What's that supposed to mean? I'm/we're lucky to have him!

Nothin like holding off to find something like this off road. The only down is an outhouse is the only option. We left with some of the best avocados on earth...and even some avocado honey.
