quick convention trip

There and back. I went with two photographers from around here. They were so fun! We stayed at the MGM, where it all was. We did leave it for a few hours to hit the Cheesecake Factory. Didn't know really what to expect of the whole show, and I think I left feeling great, kinda confused, way motivated, a little overwhelmed...and now I've got to get ordering a few things: huge prints, large albums, maybe an upgraded camera and lens. eek, and lots & lots more stuff. Oh, maybe a web-designer, a house cleaner, a dish and laundry doer. ANYWAY, they did have a lot of cool things. Fun to see them, and actually feel the products. I want to fill my walls with canvases right now, this very minute. I want to go sale all our furniture in a room and give it a total makeover into a studio, my very own studio. One photographer there said, "don't keep thinking about it just do it. If you know you'll do it eventually, why not just do it now?" Okay! Love to.one problem, how do I pay for it all? =)

WPPI. giveaway coming up...

I was planning on going to the Vegas tradeshow, then I wasn't, then I was, then I wasn't. Throwing around a plan and trying to work it out. Worked it out now, and I'm for sure going. I can't wait! I'm making a huge list of questions, booth's I want to visit, classes I want to attend, and hoping that I won't get overwhelmed. So many of the vendors I've looked into, ALL IN ONE place, plus it is so close to home. Perfect! Most of all I can't wait to meet photographers far and wide that share the same love for it as I have. Whahhooo, yahoodaloo oo

And because I'm feeling pumped, I'm going to do a GIVEAWAY! Never done one. I guess this is a start to get a little traffic to this bloggity blog =)

waiting for spring

It was a rainy, cold week.
My kids cut from our bushes out back to fill our vase. We're all looking forward to spring.

Conversation this morning:

me - "morning, Aves!"
Ava - "Mom, do I have school today??"
me - "sure do"
Ava - "well, I feel like being pretty to go"
me - "yeah? You're always pretty"
Ava - "but I want you to do my hair curled and wear a dress"
me - "sure, that will be fun, let's get breakfast and then we'll have a few hours to get you pretty"

And it was fun. No pulling her hair with elastics, barely had to comb through her hair. Maybe we oughtta just throw a few curls in more often. Dress was found for $2 at the DI. We've been loving that place lately =) She has the cutest little friends that have to have a dress, jewelry and bows on everyday, no matter what. She never really cares. Only on certain days? ;)

Oh, and after she was "all ready" she asked me to take pictures of her. "What! You WANT me to? Alright, let's go!" When she looked at them after, she said "Ah, mom, I really love the one of me with the cracker, I'm so funny" Yep. She made me laugh anyway.



Me and Seb are staying in our jammies, and just hanging around today. Feels good sometimes.She slept from 11:00am to 4:30pm yesterday! She peed the bed and slept right in it. Must have really needed some catch up from the entire night lost before.

I've got a few boy photoshoots coming up. I'm super excited!

Thought of something... I think I'll TRY to be like the ambitious blogger type, and change the header to whatever time of year/holiday it is. So I'll be focusing on getting a cool spring picture. (maybe my girls holding some flowers. eh? now we're talkin) I can't wait to get the blooming trees again this year. I like trees =)

Until I get going on those shots, I'll post a few I took last year in the spring. I can smell the spring air when I look at these. It's not official on the calendar, but as far as I'm concerned spring has begun here.


And for those of you still witnessing the snow, and icicles even...It's beautiful too! We headed up to Midway last week for our anniversary. That was our view out the window.

Most 2 year olds are wiggly, but seriously, she'd book it full speed. So much energy! I love her

This girl is simply adorable, and tiny, and sweet. I loved taking pictures of her. Caught an "in motion" one I'm going to have to post, she was all over the place (probably explains why she's so tiny).

So for every dress that's bought through persnickety, they give a dress to a child in need. Pretty neat! I saw they opened a store in the mall in Sandy. Cute pants and accessories too.

I love her name! And what a great time I had with this little beauty. It was fun meeting this family, and I got some good laughs. One by Sophie yelling out - Nemo, and the way she lit up when I got out a pack of fruit snacks. She really started smiling then.(just a few smidgens to remember about this session). She is funny! Anyway, I'm having a hard time picking favorites.
